About Terra Mia

"We are a family of four with two early teens. We enjoyed Terra Mia a lot. It's located out to the east of town about 15 mins drive. It was good to be out of town and the daily shuttle meant that getting in and out wasn't an issue. The grounds are beautifully kept and each little villa had access to a pool. The food available was excellent. The menu was simple, authentic and delicious. The service was attentive without being overpowering - nothing was too much trouble. We took two trips: to the coast (6 hours round trip); to the Atlas (4 hours round trip). The latter was excellent with a guide taking us to a waterfall after a short climb. Both trips were organised through the hotel."

"We stayed in Riad Terra Mia for the second time last week. Having stayed before in one of the private villas which was a great success for a family of four, we chose this time to stay in the main house, as there was only two of us. I contacted Hakim directly and he arranged the booking with great efficiency, patiently answering all of my questions. We were spending 3 nights in town first and then 4 nights in Riad Terra Mia. Hakim organised our transfer from town for 15 euros and when I changed the pick up time at the last minute he kindly collected us himself. Riad Terra Mia is such a relaxing escape from the bustle of town. It offers the convenience of two free daily shuttles to town a day and various excursions can also be arranged. The Riad itself is a lovely, clean and relaxing environment. Staff are very discreet. Meals are served outside by the pool. Staff come around throughout the day to check what time you wish to have lunch or dinner but they give you your space. Drinks are available in a fridge indoors and you just sign for what you take, water, minerals, beer or wine and this is added to your final bill. We found the food to be excellent and actually chose to stay at the Riad for the four days and relax rather than going into town again. If you are looking for lots of activity, you may find it quiet, but for us, having the swimming pool and the table tennis and even tennis on offer we were happy with this and just being able to read and relax. Wifi is also available in the main Riad downstairs. Hakim and his Mother were very kind and made our stay most enjoyable. They even provided a free transfer to the airport. If you are looking for a peaceful, hassle free break just 20 minutes from town then look no further. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended!"

"If you are looking for a destination in the heart of Marrakech then stop reading ... This is a marvelous place to stay with the most amazing welcome from a very lovely and cosmopolitan family who hail from Rabat. The fact that it is a short distance outside the city centre was a welcome relief for us - this is an oasis from the (significant) hustle and bustle of the Medina. They have a shuttle bus into the centre which we used daily and the short 15 minute journey is a good opportunity to plan a day out or relax after a meal in Jamma el-fnaa. We travelled with children and Hakim upgraded us to a villa which was just ideal. The kids loved the private pool and we had some really good Moroccan food in the Ryad. Nothing is too much trouble for them and all of the family speak perfect English. The kids loved breakfast here - carb fuelled but subtly different every day. Hakim organised a driver to take us to the Atlas mountains for the day and also the transfer to our next destination. Hakim went well beyond the call of duty to make sure our return journey went smoothly and it really did make a massive difference having him onside. Terra Mia absolutely deserves its Tripadvisor rating. You won't be disappointed. "A perfect holiday over the Easter holidays with children aged 14 & 11. A very comfortable base 20 minutes from the hustle and bustle of central Marrakech. We stayed in both the Riad and the suites and would recommend either. The gardens are lovely and the smell of the orange blossom unforgettable. Hakim and his family offer personal service and cannot be faulted in any way. If you are considering a break in Marrakech look no further you will not be disappointed."

"We stayed at Riad Terra Mia with our two 7 year old children over Easter for 5 nights; we stayed in one of the villas. The Riad itself is beautiful, clean and peaceful. The main meals we had there were really delicious (tajines and couscous dishes especially)- my best meals in Morocco; the breakfast comprised of yogurt, bread and croissants (or pain au chocolate), pancakes- it did not vary much. One is not allowed to bring food and beverage into the Riad, and perhaps providing some fruit would be a welcome addition. It is worth noting that the pools are not heated, and that the pool in the villa does not have a shallow end-however, they are beautiful and our children used the main pool which has a shallow end ( the water was unseasonably cold-I'm told it is normally warmer at this time of year). Terra Mia is 25 minutes from the Medina and about 30 minutes from the airport. One free return shuttle ride is offered each day- otherwise a taxi one way is approximately 150dr, or 250 dr return- the times of the shuttle rides are negotiable, but were generally offered to to leave at 10.30, 3.30 or 5.30 from the Riad. The staff at the Riad were incredibly helpful; we felt safe and well cared for. Hakim and Omar speak excellent English and were always at hand to answer any queries- they are honest and trustworthy and care passionately about their Riad. Hakim phoned us on our way to the airport to apologise for not being able to see us off himself and say good bye, and to enquire as to whether my wife enjoyed her massage on the last day - a nice touch. On our way to the airport, our children asked when we could return again- I think they loved the space and freedom to explore - in fact we did not go on any of the excusions which the Riad can organise (incl horse riding/camel riding, trips to Atlas mountains). As any parent knows, if the children are happy...)"
